Basic Oil Painting (VET Monday Evenings)

Meets Weekly

This basic class oil painting includes a representational approach to painting in oil with VET. There will be demonstrations using dramatic lighting, color choices, brush selection and palette knives manipulation to enhance your artwork. We will review basic color theory, composition, proportion control, transfer methods and presentation. Students will create individual paintings with minimal instructor assistance. This self-paced approach allows for a relaxed studio atmosphere to help develop your own style. Tuition includes some supplies; a materials list will be provided at the first class. Previous participants welcomed with fresh projects.

Prerequisites: Some basic painting helpful but not required

Classes will not meet the week of Thanksgiving 11/24 - 11/30.
