Having a solid understanding of drawing is essential for success as a visual artist. This course will cover the basic art elements of line, shape, form, and light and shadow through photos. We will use various grades of graphite and also learn different techniques and exercises to gain a deeper understanding of how to utilize graphite effectively. No prior skills are necessary for this fundamental course.

Skills acquired in this class include:

·      A strong understanding of Line, Shape, and Form

·      A firm understanding of Gradation, Light logic Principles, Value distribution, and Local Value

·      Seeing and interpreting proportion within a drawing.

·      Simple Perspective as an artistic tool.

·      Compress Charcoal

·      Kneaded Eraser
