This workshop introduces the technique of Dry Point Engraving. Traditionally this technique is done in copper, but we will use commonly found materials such as Mylar for the matrix. Explore a variety of tools like needles, safety pins, scratch art tools, and sandpaper to create your engraving. In keeping with non-toxic practices, you will gain experience using watercolor crayon as ink. This process will allow you to create full color images and will provide you with the skills to continue creating prints at home without a press!
No experience necessary. Even if you say you can't draw.... you can trace images.
Fine Print Studio is a Green Print Studio, offering traditional process through alternative techniques. The Basic Non-Toxic Printmaking series is designed for the Creative Arts Center of Dallas.
