You know the basics, but need guidance to further your abilities. This class allows students of different skill levels to benefit from a shared learning experience while working independently on projects.
Build on your previous experience in painting while working towards personal goals and strengths. Each student may explore different genres, styles and techniques with one-on-one guidance and critiques. Students will work towards refining their core skills, building on foundational knowledge, focusing on color, composition and techniques. Students will be encouraged to explore new ways of applying paint and to developing a personal style.
Sharing ideas and supporting fellow artists with class critiques help develop confidence and improve skills. Discussions of local art exhibitions help develop a better understanding of current art trends and professional style.
Please be prepared to paint the first day of class.
Bring an unfinished painting or an idea for a new work from photo, imagination, objects or sketch. Bring paints, brushes, mediums, and a stretched canvas or canvas pad.
