Encaustic Painting Workshop (VET 4/26)

Enter the world of waxed-based painting –Encaustic. We will explore the historical and the contemporary applications of wax on a variety of prepared surfaces to create texture, preservation and vibrant color imagery. Students will discover the versatility of wax melting, ground, layering, scraping, and fusing. VET will guide students in step-by-step techniques that combine encaustic with other color mixing mediums using oil paint, oil pastels and other mixed media choices. Instructor will provide basic encaustic supplies and tools.
