In this four-week class we will play around with a variety of fun drawing exercises designed to help students ease into the basics of mark making and learning to see. Students will start out on day one with collaborative blind contour drawing and from there we will move on to upside down portraiture and other techniques gleaned from different source books that we will share with you. In addition to experimental techniques, we will combine a wide variety of mixed media. What happens if you do a watercolor bleed on nice paper and let the random shapes dictate the entire composition and concept of a pen and ink drawing? Let’s find out! Dan and Rebecca Collins teach this class together for a teaching style that is the perfect combination of energy and balance, most of all, they like to play.
