Fiber Arts

Fiber arts classes at the Creative Arts Center of Dallas span sewing, dyeing, surface design, beading, and more — the craft of making with thread and cloth. Depending on the class, you'll dye fabric with natural or synthetic color or stitch and embellish your own textiles. Beginners start with the basics of structure and color and leave with a finished piece.

Classes are open to adults at every level. The fiber studio provides the larger equipment; you bring a few personal materials — often yarn or fabric you'll keep working with — listed on each class page. Classes run as full sessions for building real skill, and as shorter workshops for a single technique like leather work or beading and threading.

Fiber work is tactile, meditative, and endlessly deep. Our instructors are practicing fiber artists. As a nonprofit community art center, we keep classes accessible — our scholarship program helps cover tuition for students who need it.
