Your donation keeps art accessible to everyone in Dallas.
The Creative Arts Center of Dallas has been a home for working artists and curious beginners alike since 1963. Founded by Octavio Medellín — a Mexican-American sculptor whose work was exhibited at MoMA and the 1939 World's Fair — CAC was built on a simple conviction: that serious art education should be available to anyone who wants it, not just those who can afford an elite institution.
Sixty years later, that mission still drives everything we do. More than 1,500 students take over 500 classes each year in ceramics, painting, drawing, glass, jewelry, metalwork, stone carving, and more — on a two-acre campus four miles east of downtown Dallas. Most of them are adults returning to art, discovering it for the first time, or deepening a practice they've carried for years. Many come back session after session, year after year.
Your donation directly funds the programs that go beyond the classroom:
-
Camp MetalHead — a summer program in jewelry, welding, and metalwork for underserved teens ages 13–17
-
Scholarships — available year-round for students who need financial assistance to enroll
CAC is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. Every dollar stays local and goes directly toward keeping studios open, instructors teaching, and community programs running.
Thank you for investing in Dallas's creative community.
