Ceramics/Pottery Classes
Ceramics classes at the Creative Arts Center of Dallas cover the full process of working in clay — throwing on the wheel, handbuilding, glazing, and firing — for adults at every level, from first-timers to experienced potters. In a beginner class you'll learn to center clay, pull your first walls, trim a finished foot, and glaze and fire work you take home.
The ceramics studio is equipped with pottery wheels, electric kilns, glazes, and handbuilding tools. The shared equipment is provided, so you bring only a few personal tools — listed on each class page and yours to keep as you continue. Classes run as eight-week full sessions for building throwing skills over time, and as shorter workshops for a focused introduction.
Working in clay is one of the most grounding, hands-on things you can do, and our instructors are practicing ceramic artists who get you making from day one. As a nonprofit community art center, we keep classes accessible — our scholarship program helps cover tuition for students who need it.
