Jewelry & Small Metals
Jewelry and small metals classes at the Creative Arts Center of Dallas teach metalsmithing at the bench — sawing, soldering, forming, and finishing metal to make rings, pendants, earrings, and small objects. In a beginner class you'll pierce metal with a jeweler's saw, solder a seam, set a stone, and finish and polish a piece you designed and made yourself; more advanced classes move into deeper technical skills and fabrication.
Classes welcome adults at all levels. The jewelry studio is equipped with jeweler's benches, torches, a rolling mill, and polishing and finishing stations — shared equipment is provided, and you bring a small personal toolkit, listed on the class page and yours to keep as you continue. Most classes run as full sessions, with shorter courses for projects like making a wedding band or a pair of earrings.
There's real magic in walking out wearing something you made from raw metal. Our instructors are working jewelers and metalsmiths. We're a nonprofit — our scholarship program helps cover tuition for anyone who needs it.
