Mosaic
Mosaic classes at the Creative Arts Center of Dallas teach the craft of building images and surfaces from cut tile, glass, and stone — designing, cutting, setting, and grouting a finished piece. Beginners learn to nip and cut material, lay out a design, set it into a substrate, and grout and finish a mosaic they take home. More advanced classes move into larger work and three-dimensional forms.
Classes are open to adults at all levels — no art background needed. The studio provides some tile/glass, adhesives, and grout; you bring a few personal materials listed on each class page. Mosaic works well as both shorter workshops, where you finish a small piece in a session or two, and longer classes for ambitious projects.
It's patient, satisfying, forgiving work — and the results last for decades. Our instructors are practicing mosaic artists. As a nonprofit community art center, we keep classes accessible — our scholarship program helps cover tuition for students who need it.
