Mixed Media

Mixed media classes at the Creative Arts Center of Dallas are about combining materials and breaking the rules of any single discipline — collage, assemblage, layered painting, and experimental work that mixes paint, paper, found objects, and texture. These classes suit artists who like to play across boundaries, and beginners who don't want to be boxed into one medium. You'll build layered, personal pieces and learn techniques for combining surfaces that shouldn't work together but do.

Classes welcome adults at every level. Core studio materials and tools are provided; a few personal supplies are listed on the class page and are yours to keep. Most run as workshops and shorter courses — ideal for experimenting without a long commitment.

Mixed media is where curiosity matters more than training, which makes it a great way in. Our instructors are working artists who build across media themselves. As a nonprofit, cost shouldn't stand in the way — our scholarship program helps cover tuition for those who need it.
