Photography

Photography classes at the Creative Arts Center of Dallas teach digital photography — composition, light, exposure, and the choices that turn a snapshot into a photograph. Across our classes you'll learn to work your camera in manual mode, see and use light, compose with purpose, and edit your best work in post. Beginners are welcome and leave understanding how their camera actually works, not just its automatic settings.

Classes serve adults at every level. You bring your own digital camera (a camera that allows manual control is ideal); any additional personal supplies are listed on the class page. Classes run as full sessions for building a foundation, and as workshops on specific topics like night photography, portrait lighting, or editing.

A camera is everywhere now; using one well is rarer. Our instructors are working photographers. As a nonprofit, we keep classes accessible — our scholarship program helps cover tuition for those who need it.
