Summer Workshops & Classes
Spend your summer making something. Summer classes and workshops at the Creative Arts Center of Dallas run all season — both eight-week full sessions for building a skill and shorter workshops for trying something new when the schedule is lighter.
Summer is the easiest time to start. Longer evenings and a slower pace make it the season people finally sign up for the ceramics, painting, jewelry, drawing, or fiber class they've been meaning to try. Full session classes meet weekly with the same instructor and small group, so you can genuinely develop a craft over the summer; one-day and weekend workshops let you dive into a single technique or finish a project in an afternoon.
All classes are for adults at every level, beginners included, taught by working artists in fully equipped studios. The core equipment for each discipline — wheels, kilns, torches, hand tools — is provided; some classes list a few additional supplies, usually personal items like brushes or tools that are yours to keep as you continue making art. Whether you're picking up a brand-new medium or returning to one you love, there's a summer format that fits.
As a nonprofit community art center, we're here to make hands-on art accessible to everyone in Dallas. Our scholarship program helps cover tuition for students who need it, so cost doesn't have to stand in the way. See if you qualify and apply.
