Joy of Watercolor | Janece | Thu Evening

Step into the playful, freeing world of watercolor and discover why this medium brings so much delight to the artists who fall in love with it. This class is an invitation to set aside perfectionism, embrace the happy accidents, and find the pure joy of putting brush to paper. Whether you've never picked up a watercolor brush or you've been wanting to reconnect with a creative practice, this class will meet you where you are.

You will learn tips, tricks, and techniques from an instructor who not only works and teaches in the medium of watercolor but has also built a career as an award winning artist with her artwork represented in galleries throughout the US, internationally, and actively showcased in nationally ranked art festivals. Sarah Janece's teaching style leads with embracing the creativity that is unique to each individual while working to advance their artistic skills and creative abilities — and above all, with helping students rediscover the simple pleasure of making something with their hands.

Each week's class will begin with an interactive painting demonstration to guide you along the project prompt followed by step by step guidance to ensure the watercolor process can be a freeing experience. You'll explore color mixing, brush handling, and the magical interplay of water and pigment through a series of approachable, joyful projects designed to build your confidence and your skills at the same time. Expect to laugh, to surprise yourself, and to leave with paintings — and a creative practice — to be proud of.
